Tom Thomson

Mr. Tom Thomson was born in 1877 in Canada. He painted oil paintings. His work in the last years of his life was a precursor to abstract expressionism that arose in the post World War II world in New York.

“His paintings use broad brush strokes and a liberal application of paint to capture the beauty and color of the Ontario landscape.”

He is also considered as one of the members of group of seven – A group of Canadian landscape painters.

He loved outdoors.
